WHO I AM

My name is Jacob Nierenberg. Pleased to meet you.

I'm a capable journalist who can write in a wide variety of styles: narratives, features and editorials, to name a few. While I'm most in my element when writing about music, history or culture, the truth is I can write about just about anything. I also have some experience with editing and proofreading—in fact, I've even had friends ask me to look over things they've written, from blog posts to dissertations.

I have two degrees from Stanford University—a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies (obtained in 2017) and a Master of Arts in Journalism (obtained in 2018)—and in the past I've been an intern at Crosscut, The Seattle Times and The Columbian. Currently, I'm a contributing writer for Consequence, Treble and uDiscover Music, the editorial platform for Universal Music Group. If I'm not writing, I'm probably listening to music, or brushing up on the latest political news.

A mostly complete list of publications I've written for can be found up in the header. Click on those tabs for samples of my writing from each publication, as well as some miscellaneous articles.
